then I know the hills are alive

and covered with pollen and blooms

then the dried husks of grasses 

glistening in the wind 

are my string orchestra

The air was clear

the goal unobstructed

the timing perfect

and those bushes needed a trimming

I got out the electric saw

I had purchased for myself

and began swoosh

swoosh swooshing

mindful of my legs

and toes especially

and where I’m holding my hands

one down

another down

yes! I’m still strong

I’ll take that last one down

Wow!

What a sense of empowerment

to trim my own bushes

with my own electric trimming saw

just when they need it most

and there it is–job done
