Beauty Day 10

Find one beautiful thing every day and take a photo of it.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Day 10 Wreath

I bought

a plain looking wreath

fresh cut, alive

I decorated it by hand

and hung it on my front door

It says W-E-L-C-O-M-E

Please come into my heart

and into my home

Day 9 Community

Beauty

is when

parents, extended family

teachers, friends

unite

to

support

                                      lead

                                                                             cheer

little people

                                                                                                                   along their way

Day 8 Children’s Faith

The children led

the worship singing

this morning at church.

The adults sang along with them

happier than they have ever sung.

I was happy

to see all these adults

so happy.

Day 7 Pink

My granddaughter says

her favorite color is pink.

She’s three.

She loves to wear her brilliant pink tutus

jump on the bed, make forts, and tumble off the couch.

She’s never heard that “pink” for girls

is not pc.

Day 6 Anticipation

Looking forward to seeing

this beautiful ballet

with a friend

brings excitement, hope, and joy to my day.

So it is for Christians who look forward

to meeting Christ face to face.

Day 5 My Special Friend

We’ve both been sick with flu and cold going on two weeks.

Today came our regular Thursday breakfast out—Yay!!

This means McDonald’s.

But I like Monster Biscuits.

We agree the seats are hard at this other place

and the ambience cold.

So we planned our tactic the night before.

He would bring a brown bag and the coupons.

We’d hit the local competitor, then over to McDonald’s.

Once there he sat down with the brown bag

the padded seats and the brighter ambience

while I ordered the senior coffee.

We pulled this off! What a guy!

A Joyful Liberation

Psalm 30:1 A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple. Of David.

I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me.

2 LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.

3 You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.

4 Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.

5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

6 When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.”

7 LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.

8 To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:

9 “What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?

10 Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help.”

11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,

12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.
