My daughter is beautiful in so many ways

She loves to garden

and devotes herself to it.

After growing the plants

she preserves, prepares, and serves them

in all kinds of marvelous combinations

She even wrote and

home published a cookbook

I am not like her…

when she gave me

a steamed rice cooker

for Christmas this year (I never ever had one)

I embraced it–
